1986 fuel pumps

i was told that on my 1986 full size bronco with a 302, that i have 2 fuel pumps.. 1 in the gas tank and one external .. .is this true ?

Yep. One lives in the tank, next to the fuel gauge sending unit. It's a lower pressure pump, that basically pulls fuel from the bottom of the tank, through a screened bag, and up to and through a frame-mounted fuel filter hidden behind a steel plate. From there, a higher pressure pump mounted inside the driver's side frame rail, just below the firewall, pulls and pushes the fuel up to the engine.
