I got an email from a family member with a story attached about supporting our troops. At the bottom of this email it said that there were people starting a new trend.Simply put,it said.If you support our troops then wear red every friday.Well seeing as how I have a daughter in the Air Force, and a son going in the Navy in July,Darn Tootin I AM WEARIN RED!How about you.
I hadn't heard of this. I have a nephew that is doing his second tour over there right now. The knothead volunteered for a second. I'll start with the red this week!!!
I dunno, maybe it's something like the yellow ribbons during WWII, etc??
IMO he is asking a much deeper question than that.
My supporting the troops is 3-fold.
1) Buying "support our troops" mechandise so the families back here in Canada don't have to shop at the food bank, and allowing things to be sent to the soldiers wherever they are.
2) Standing tall to project to politicians that our soldiers need to receive the proper funding so they can do their job safely and expediently so they may feel they aren't feeling they are involved in something not appreciated by us Common citizens.
3) Backing the soldiers in their quest to do humanitarian service for the people that can't stand up for themselves. To fullfill their security needs and to help rebuild their lives. A noble cause.
i'll be wearing red each friday now for a reason. thanks for the heads up King.
to the support the troop ??, for me it means supporting candidates that will never cut off funding(vietnam), not belittling them by agreeing with the notion they can't win this war, or as proposed by a past candidate, they are there because they can do no better.

Red on Fridays it is! None of us like this war and would love to bring our boys and ladies back home, but we can't. So lets do every little thing possible to give these servicemen a little backing instead of protesting every thing they do. I also do my little part to buy every one of them a beer at the VFW when they get home or before they go over. Heres to the servicemen and women
I dont ever want my children or any other service member to feel the way our boys did during Vietnam, with the war protesters and the nasty things that were said to them and about them.I want to show our troops that when they check out what is going on back home, they find out about the red on friday, and see all of us wearing it!
