Yeah, thats what i needed to hear. I'm sure its not in all the way. I'll pull it back apart this afternoon. Is thier any chance i messed something up in the trans by running the bolts up with it like that? I was just useing a wrench, i did'nt feel anything give, and did'nt hear any noises. I stoped when it started getting tight.Anyway to get it to line up without pulling it back away from the flywheel?
Ok, i got her going. Trans working great. Just need a fuel filter and maybe an alt. One more question, should the transfer case on this 2x4 have oil in it? My speedo does'nt work and the gear at the end of the cable looked really dry. The one on the 4x4 was wet with oil. Thanks.
Yeah, the t-case whether or not it's the 4x2 mockup one or a regular 4x4 one should have fluid in it. I can't remember whether or not those take regular gear oil or auto tranny fluid, but if you have an owner's manual or a chilton's / haynes manual or get on autozone.com's repair guides, it should tell you. You'll also probably want to check to see if the speedo cable has snapped, etc. Hope this helps
Checked my speedo cable, its fine. The gear in the transfer case is worn down, will that come out thru the output shaft? Or will i have to take the case apart? Thanks JD.
Ok, so how difficult is it to replace my speedo gear in the transfer case. Do i just pull my yoke off and fish it out or what? 87 Bronco II. Thanks JD.
