I doubt it. That diff plug is probally the VSS that picks up the tone ring for the speedo.
My first thought was a Gear Vendors unit but I can't see any difference in the driveshaft or rear of the tranny.

It might be an eaton Elocker. Similar primise to an ARB, but electronic.

Might that be the rear abs sensor? It's surely a factory sensor, look at the housing, there are ears on both sides for sensor protection.

the plug with the wires coming out of it on the top of the diff is the sencor for the tone gear, you are correct!
most aftermatermarker lockers require you to drill/tap into the very top of the diff, not on the front side.
