rear window 87 bronco
How do I get the window half way up to change motor?
is there a trick to this I have taken tail gate down
and removed panel try to grab window from bottom but it won't budge is there a trick I need to know

Try disconnecting the wires that connect to the tailgate first. Well, wait. Actually a better way is to roll the window all the way down, open the tailgate and just force it out. It wont fall out (It shouldn't) and you'll be able to get to the regulator which has the motor behind it.

All you have to do is close the driver's side catches - that trips the safety switch & allows the motor to work. Just don't roll the glass ALL the way out without supporting it. And remember to put the glass all the way back down & release the catch before you try to close the gate.
