I may have to sell my 71 ford custom....It has 80 plus miiles on it the motor is a 360 and a three on the tree....It has good rubber with new chrome wheels on it. It has dual exhausts with glass packs as I recall and is pretty loud. The inside is in excellent shape with a new dash cap and carpet over the original rubber mat. It has been repainted to the original color of the bight orange that iit was when I bought it. Tailgate has a few scratches in it from a move and where the wife let the garage door down on it. There is just a little rust on the passenger side front fender of which I thought I had taken care of before painting. The body is straight including the bed and the chrome front bumper is in excellent shape. The back bumper was taken off and replaced with a roll pan......It is a nice old truck, but I just can't use it anymore.....If I were to roll this out on the driveway, what do you good folks think I should ask for it.....Your help would be appreciated.....A picture on the internet is not possible at this time....You will just have to take my word for it that it is a nice old truck....Nomadic
Hard to put a value on someone else's truck. Do you mean 80 miles on a fresh engine or 80,000 on the truck? Value depends a lot on where you live and what's hot. Might want to do some checking in local ads for similar trucks and see what they are selling for. What it's worth and what you can get for it has a lot to do with how much you want to advertise it and how long you are willing to wait for the right buyer to see it. It only costs $40.00 to put it on eBay with a reserve price you can live with. If it sells, it sells, if it doesn't you're probably asking too much.... Based on the information you've given, I've seen trucks in similar condition go for as high as $5,000.00, just takes getting it in front of the right buyer...
I've also had good luck selling nice trucks with lots of good eye candy in "Deals on Wheels". Setting it in the driveway with a for sale sign really limits your market......
Thanks for the information Dave...You are correct ....sitting in the driveway does really limit the market....There are a few trucks like this one around town, but most are fixed up pretty nice as well...It is not a real hot market for older Fords in this area.
At any rate, I will consider your advice....Thank you again...Nomadic
