I forgot about fusible links from the solenoid, however, if the fusible link I am thinking of is bad, it wouldn't even turn over, but worth checking them out. Also check out your fuel pump / ECC relays just aft of the starter solenoid and all of that wiring. Could be a bad ECC relay as well. I'm trying to figure out where you can get an ECM for $35 other than at a junkyard... I think he is referring to the TFI module? I've never heard of a 2.9 grenading a distributor gear, but you can pull the cap and see if the rotor is turning when you turn the engine over. If it is, like someone else mentioned, could also be the distributor guts (hall effect sensor, etc). Also, as previously mentioned, check all of your circuits and the grounds. Going back to the distributor, I do believe I remember hearing about a problem with the ground on the Ford TFI distributors... something about losing continuity to ground and not firing? I don't remember *shrug*
u dont think i changed all those parts without checking the fuse's do you?
Trust me, you can't take a question like that personal with only 9 posts. We don't really know you yet and some people don't check things like fuses before changing parts.

didnt mean it in a bad way everyones imput has been greatly appreciated
trust me
just want to lean towards the ecm,,, guess i need to be more open for other suggestions too but the way it died suddenly,no noise's,no shaking,,very non violent as if i switched off the key guess i just thought it would have to be computer related but i've definately been wrong before.
(for example)changed numerous parts on my 97 Z28 before finding out it was that damn OPTI-SPARK distributor
if it turns out to be nothing electrical, i would bet on a broke timing chain or cam... but you can easily rule this out by taking the cap off the distribute and have some one turn the key, if the button dont move.. then its iether or. if it turns then its not the chain or cam. or dist gear.
