Going into the dealer on Monday to get a remote starter installed, he told me he was going to hook me up with a good price last week when I talked to him when I bought my new truck, hope he remembers... Anyways, I havent really even talked price yet, but I have to go in there to pick up my mats, and get a little scratch buffed out anyways so will decide if I get it done or not when I'm there. What should I pay no more than for the remote starter and the install? He mentioned it was a good device that they used there, so I assume it's on the higher end of remote starter kits. What do ya think he will charge $250? $350?
I had an aftermarket system put in my truck with an alarm and remote start and it was 399 with install.
Hard to say what the stealership will cost you.
well i just got my gf a car starter installed at Circuit City the day when she got her new 2007 Mercury Milan Premier (yes, i made her get a Ford!!). The kit came with 2 transponders, each has unlock, lock, trunk pop, and remote start built into one. This remote start/keyless entry cost $300 installed since they needed to bypass the chip in the key, and also the factory alarm on the vehicle. It is so great to walk into a warm car when it is -10 out.
I just had a Ford Silver installed, remote start only.
$499. I know it was a little high but it is covered under the truck warranty.
I think it is under warranty for the original 3 years . Check with them and see if it will still be covered if you purchase the extended warranty. The unit itself is made by code alarm and I beleive it has a lifetime warranty from them.
I had a viper alarm/remote start installed in my 06. The little dealy that makes the truck think there is a key in the igintion cost me a key and 100 bucks for the device. I got alarm, remote start, 2 way key fob and perim sensor for 1100.
