I pulled the fuel tank out of my bronco to replace the fuel pump. I drained it the best I could but I still have sediment in the bottom or rust (it looks like rust) There is not alot of it but I was wondering what is the proper way to flush my tank? or should i just leave it.
Hold it on it's side, and sray in water to rinse it out. Get out as much of the water as you can, and then let it dry for a day or so. Put it back together, and fille it with gas. Just keep it above half a tank, especially in the winter, to prevent condensation.
That's the method I've always used to prep a gas tank for welding/brazing/etc. But I also place a 75W drop light under the tank to keep it warm - it helps to evaporate everything.
