check engine light flashes and is sometimes solid????
My check engine light came on. I have not had a chance to pull the code .
I'm used to vehicles having a solid (Not blinking) light.
The light was blinking for a few minutes and then solid...then blinking a few moments later.
Is this normal or does it mean anything????
The truck had snow packed into the chasis.. It would not start.
I took my torpedo heater and aimed it at the starter area and it started. As soon as I started to back up, the light kicked on. All guages looked good.
I will pull the code a little later, but am curious to significance of the blinking/solid issue.....
It's a '97 F150 4.6 4x4
The code said cylinder number 6 misfire. I cleared the code and it has not returned (only after a few minutes). I know I never replaced the plugs so that will probably be my goal this evening.
I will do some searching here for tips, but if anyone has changed them or knows some tricks, or links...your comments would be appreciated.
