Why does it run without the cops?? It has wires that run down to a four terminal distributor on the front of the head and has the same thing on the other side. All of the wires are the same. They have a big boot that is flat on top and the wire runs into the side of it close to the top. The boot has a flat top that is shaped like a 3/4 moon.
So am I supposed to have COPs or not? Do I have the right wires on it? I am confused ( which happens frequently) as to what I have. I have seen the COPs that ya'll have talked about and I thought I was supposed to have them on the 4.6 that I have but I have the coil packs and the wires with the big flat headed boot and NO COPs. I need a history update on the FORD engines. Been a long time since I worked on one (as you can surely tell). Can you give me a brief (or not so brief If you wish) lesson on what I have and why I have it? :-)
Good then, I have the right equipment for the right year. Scared me there for a while. Thanx to all for the answers. Now for the prize........Whoever said plug wires gets the grand prize: An "I LOVE CHEVY" bumper sticker.
