I am in the process of ordering a 2008 F350 Diesel 4X4 SRW. I do a moderate level of towing, so I am considering the 63B Stabilizer Pkg. to improve the stability when towing. With this option you get Heavy Service Front Springs and rear Stabilizer. How much do the heavy service front springs effect the ride quality when not towing?
It's most likely just 100-300lbs more spring rate. If you get good shocks with it (plug for Bilstiens) ride might be a little stiffer, but still very comfortable. Shocks are the biggest factor to ride quality.
Very little effect. My truck came without the stab. pkg. and it has 5200lb front springs. My friend has the same truck as me, but with the stab. pkg. and it came with 5600lb front springs. Very little difference in ride. I am in the process of changing mine to 6000lb springs as I find the 05 and up trucks bottom out too easy on the front. Others that have done this say the ride is not objectional so you'll be finewith the stab. pkg.
