I need and want a better exhaust but i live in a neighborhood where the "community" looks down on older cars or trucks that make a statement or makes to much noise. I've been looking for an exhaust that really quiet but also doesnt drag down my performance. I keep hearing Gibson is the best to go. I just need some feedback, so if anyone has a gibson exhaust on a EFI 302 and just how loud is it at Idle and then up to about 5000rpm and are you happy with it?
I put the Gibson cat back system on my 89 Bronco, 5.0. It was real simple to put on. It has a little healthier sound, but is far from loud. You barely notice it.

PS, my first post on this board. It's a great site, lot's of info, been lurking and reading!
Unbolted the stock system from the back of the cat back. The new system bolts right in place, even uses the stock hanger in the back. Only trick is don't bolt it up tight to the cat until everythings in place. I did that at first and it was a chore to get the hanger on the tailpipe into the rubber holder on the frame. Loosen everything up and it works.
I have one on my 95 w/351 and it is far from being too loud. I am 30 years old, about 14 years past my glass pack stage, and the gibson just gives it a more throaty sound. You will not bother anyone in your neighborhood with it. As said earlier, it is extremely easy to put on. It took me about an hour to remove the old and stick on the new and I was through. Get it--you'll be glad you did.
