NASCAR can't afford to have any team have an edge, of course. Parity is the name of the game there. I've stated my opinion before that what NASCAR is in the business of is definitely NOT auto racing... they are simply marketing drivers, and to a lesser extent, the cars. But, some of those drivers and crew chiefs and owners still want to race, and will do anything they can to be the first one across the line. I'm a bit surprised that NASCAR handed out penalties that included loss of driver's and owner's points, but they probably felt that unless they "got tough" they'd face the loss of the "fans". Well, I'm not that kind of fan. I still follow the races to some extent, but I feel that NASCAR, in effect, sold out the diehard, "run what ya brung", "race on Sunday, sell on Monday" fans a long time ago.
I think it wasnt jet fuel they found by some rice wine Removed by Admin: inappropriate comment for a family site l were drinking while having a party to celibrate 'the very honorable ricer race car" lordy

Reason: the japs
Gordon got busted for the car being an inch too low after he won the his duel race and no points or fines, just start at the back of the pack? WTF? sounds like favoritism to me boys,no two ways around it. cheating is cheating, punishemnt should be the same! It is no longer NASCAR,it is CHEVYCAR.And I will have a lot of time on sunday afternoons to do wahtever I want since i won't be watching CHEVYCAR anymore!!
Just to keep things straight and honest, a bracket broke on the car, it was not intentional cheating, they let him keep the win and move him to the back, exactly what the rules say....this coming from a guy that really dislikes NASCAR ...so if I know well...
i was watching Imus in the morning on (P)MSNBC friday and Darryl Waltrip was a guest. Imus asked about the foreign "substance" in Mike Waltrips manifold. DW says "duhh.. it's a foreign car". can anyone argue with that?????
disclosure: i'm a 24 fan and agree with his spanking even though it was (nascar term) "unintentional".

I think the car owners might have had some kind of special meeting near the car and maybe someone poured some rice wine into the gas tank to give it a special blessing. This sort of thing happins in this wonderful day of freedom and religious joy.

I thought it was pretty funny that even his own brother was making fun of ol mikey during the qualifying races. When they were going to make a pit stop,he said something to the affect of " here comes mikey to get 4 fresh tires and a tank of fuel. I hope he makes enough money out of this race to pay for his last tank cause that last tank of fuel cost him about $6000 a gallon"
