Accelerator pump
I have a 351m with a motorcraft 2bbl carb.When I gun it it will backfire through the carb.It won't when I gradually press the gas only when I gun it.i have put a new accelerator pump on it.I don't know if its the timing that is advance.If the vacum advance is advancing it too much,or i need to put the smaller rod that pushes in the accelerator pump.What you think,im too stupid to figure this crap out.
