Instrument Cluster Problems
The instrument cluster lights should have their own fuse that is fed by the #4 fuse. In other words the #4 feeds the running lights and the fuse for the instrument cluster. They did some things different for different years, so check the fuse box to make sure you do have a seperate instrument cluster fuse.
What that means is, if you had an instrument cluster problem, the smaller fuse for that would blow before the larger #4 fuse. I would check the wiring at the rear of the truck to see if anything is rubbing, or if someone has modified the wiring for a trailer and something has gone wrong. Also if you have anything added like running boards with lights on them, or a camper shell with lights, I would check that wiring.
