Need advice on bolt torque

I am currently in the process of reassembling the chassis of my '52 M1 and I have a question. I removed the front spring brakets (front of the front spring) in order th clean rust out if the area and to make it easier to replace the bushings in the bracket. I am planning to bolt them back in with 7/16" grade 8 bolts, nuts and lock washers. Anyone have suggestions on how much torque I should put on these bolts?

Thanks

Mike

I never really measured the torque on suspension bolts but I would hazard a guess at tight with a half inch drive 14" handled ratchet as 50-60 foot lbs. Not any where near white knuckled then two more turns, but fairly tight :-) I would think you would have a very hard time snapping those bolts by hand.......my 2 cents for what it worth.
