Question 6.9 diesel to a 460

hi fellas i have a 1984 f-250 with the 6.9 diesel in it and it is right now under complete restoration. i am having trouble deciding what to do about the motor and have recently been flirting with the idea of dropping in a 460. does anyone know where i could find more info about doing this or better yet has anyone done it? i found a place that sells the motor mounts to do the conversion but i still have many questions like will the 4 speed manual still bolt up? what kind of wiring dilemmas am i getting into? will the rest of the drive train work out like the transfer case, drive shaft length, and do i need new rear gears? any help would be greatyl appriciated.
thanks guys,

Our buddy did the opposite swap on his 83 F250 4x4. He went from the 460 to the 6.9. I can tell you that the bellhousing is the same as the 460, just the 6.9 has an adapter plate that is bolted to the block to make it fit to the 460 bell housing. You will need different motor mounts as well. What our friend did was buy a donor truck with the 6.9 in, and used the wiring harness, dash, fuel tanks, etc. to get it in. For gears it depends what you have, but that can cost alot to change since gears aren't cheap. The rest of the powertrain will work no prob. Just the wiring is the worst, but I suggest finding a donor truck, lots in the junkyards!
