i need help passsing the yearly state inspection, They say that my front two windows are to dark, they are at like 20 or 25 %, Does any one know of any place that could help me out or what would be the best route to take, I have heard of tearing it off and getting it redone after the inspection, but that is out of the question, and several other tricks, I live around the Lake Norman Mooresville area if anyone can help.
well you have to get inpected in the county you live in since yours is over a 1996 model i know this for my dad tried to get his inspected where i live and they said no due to the year and he does not live in this county. so your best bet is to remove the tint, they will give your truck a real tight inspection, you can try rolling the windows down but i dont think it will work,
You should be able to get an emissions inspection in any county that requires emissions inspections, not only the county where it is registered. Back before they dropped the pre-96 sniffer test, I had my truck inspected in both Wake and Durham counties (registered in Durham) with no questions, hesitations, or second glances. My girlfriend's car is registered in Wake, but her dad gets their vehicles (all after 96) inspected in Durham or Granville county.
Mako I live only 8 miles from Concord and I would love it if you could maybe point me in the right direction, If you do not feel right ding it over this site send me an email cause I am like 6 months over, they had to rip the tint off my old truck, and it is not an option for my new one. I would really appreciate it if you could help, Thanks

That is correct, any county that has OBD2 can inspect.
well i know last year my dad was here in davidson county and they would not inspect his because he lived in sampson county. they all told him he had to inspect it where his taxes was registered at. i dont know what kind crap that was but of course the state changes the laws and rules so fast nobody can keep up

The only thimg I can think of is all the counties you mentioned are not OBD2 compliant. All are not in NC, but most are now. All within the last three years. If you are from an OBD county you must go to an OBD county to get an inspection. If you dont have an OBD law there you can go anywhere to get inspection.
put your window's down pull the fuse, their is no law in NC that says you have to have working wondows. play it off that your dealer has a part orderd for it .
LOL and if he dosn't have power he can just pull the handels off and say his kids broke the handels. ( hey yall don't sell handels do you i cant find any outher than the dealer) just be sure they dont sell handels LOL
