To make a short story long, a guy who works for me asked if I wanted him to tint my front windows, but after seeing his truck, I noticed that the windows he tinted do not match the factory winows (in color, not in darkness).
So I want to know what was used originally on my 06 F350 KRanch (back windows of the crew cab).
Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in.
Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window Any darkness can be used.
Sticker Requirements The sticker to identify legal tinting is required between the film & glass on each tinted window.
I went one shade UNDER factory tint on the driver and passenger front windows. It lasted 3 weeks until I got pulled over here in CA. $100 down the drain.
I have 20% on mine and it matches the OEM glass. The guys who did my tints use a commercial brand, very good quality. Here in NY, I believe the law states 70% of light must show through. I imagine it varies from state to state.
