I want to tint my windows but the last time I did it really didn't match the factory privacy glass in the back..Are the any specific brands that do?

 

well i know mine does not match,(i am probably the only person that ever noticed)you do have to look closely to see the difference. i went to a place and said i wanted the front to match the rear, it is the same darkness but the factory tint has a slight browninsh tint and what they put on is more blueish. i would say you wold have to go to tint shop and just kind of eyeball it with different tints to find one that is the closest

 

i was told that the tint shop's cannot match factory tint, for what reason i do not know but thats what i was told. i was told that to have matching tint all around they would remove the factory tint and re-tint the entire rig, so that it would match all the way around. they quoted me a price but i cant remember off the top of my head but it was pretty spendy

 

I think "Dark" will match it fairly well. As for taking the tint off the windows, you can't. The tint is in the windows, unless there is a film on the inside. But I doubt it. I think they bake the tint into the windows. I put medium on my fronts just to make it a bit lighter than the rears (for legulation reasons), and there is a difference but you have to be fairly close to tell.

If not, you can tint the whole truck over again, but it will be very dark because there will be two layers on the rear. There is four different kinds of tint at the shop up here. They are Smoked, Medium, Dark, and Limo. I would go with the dark and who cares about a little difference. The only way they can tell is if they look right up to the window. The shops do not have a tint to match the factory stuff.
