HELP! I need new tires for my 2000 PSD 350, I have Michelin LTX 275/70/16 and
would like to have a taller tire, its gonna snow here Monday night and I need the tires tomorrow (I pLow snow), I also have the helper springs in the front, so the height is raised about 2" in the front. I like the Michelins, but am not married to them, the cost isn't a factor, My goals are good traction, and good gas mileage.
I also want a E rating for towing issues too! thanks in advance.
I know that alot of people on here swear by the BFG AT'S like I do. they are quiet, have crazy traction in the snow ( I had them on a couple of my 2-wheel drive trucks and I could not get stuck in the snow),they do fair in the mud, they last a long time (I out 75000 on a couple of sets on my 2wd cummins), and the 285's are E rated. You may pay a little more for them, but it's worth every penny. They are the only tire I will buy anymore!!!!!!!! I have YOKO AT'S now and they suck I get stuck in 3 inches of snow in 2wd and they are only D rated. E rating is a must if you do any hauling or towing with your truck. I have stressed out D rated tires very easily and then they get that white color in the side wall and look like crap. Since you have a heavy snowplow plus the psd it's a must to have E rated I would think. That's alot of weight I know that D's are good for like 3350#'s a piece, but they get that white sidewall stress ring way before that.
I know that most everyone here is queer on BF Goodrich tires, but I got a whopping 35,000 miles out of the stock tires. Certainly nothing to be bragging about. If on road is your thing, there is no better tire than the Michelin LTX, period, paragraph, end of story. If off road is your thing, Mastercraft Courser series should be your first look. The Courser CT is the ONLY tire that lasts on the white rock lease roads here. My stock BFG's went from bad to garbage in less than 10k miles on these roads. They don't give them away, but you do get what you pay for, and they are made in Texarkana Arkansas.
The stock BFG'S you had were not AT's or MT's the rugged trail crap but the other two are great for the money. and what the hell is Mastercraft a walmart brand? The 285/75/16 are only D rated( f-150 only).I would rather be queer on BFG tires than Walcraft tires, doo rags, and goatee's

Well you do like yamahas, so I guess queer you are indeed. Back to the tires though, BFG's suck plain and simple, they are way overrated and also overpriced. As far as your china-mart comment, the gay BFG's are for sale at china-mart as well as michelins and badyear, so what is your point?
On edit, nevermind, I should have known you were a 7.3 owner, henceforth you will be right in every forum you post in. I am sorry, please accept my appology for arguing with you. However please keep buying the BFG's though, someone needs to keep them in business.
Sorry about that. Coopers are good tires. I had a set of my past truck and loved them. They did great in snow, but wore a little fast. I had the Discoverys.
