I ran about 1/3 can of Seafoam through the intake today via the brake booster line. Let it sit for about 5 minutes and then restarted. I was expecting a huge ploom of white smoke. What I got was just a small trail of white smoke for 1-2 miles of driving. Then nothing out of the exhaust. The truck ran smooth the whole time.
Does this mean I need to put another 1/3 can through the intake again? Did I do something wrong? Any advice is appreciated!
Do a search for it and you'll find a lot about it. But, Seafoam is an engine cleaner that can run through the intake, fuel system and oil system. Run it through the intake to clean gaskets, remove carbon/gum buildup, put in the fuel tank to remove moisture and clean injectors, or through the oil system to clean it. Their site is http://www.seafoamsales.com
If there is not a significant level of carbon build up, it will not smoke heavily. I've had engines that smoked like a freight train, and I've had engines that smoked very little or not at all. Usually, the first time I run some through an engine, I'll use at least 1/2 a can.
