Is the 56 the same as a 53? I think there may possibly be a couple of 53's in my parts pile............

The reason you are having trouble finding one is because it's not a part that wears. Your only hope is an outfit that deals in 53-56 F100's. There's one in San Jose, but I don't recall the name. Big M in Chico might have some 56's. I believe the part is 56 only because the cab is different than 53-55. I have no 56 books yet, but will have soon.

Hay, SPARKY. The parts and accessories illustrations catalog [pg 68] shows it to be the same. If you could find one in your parts pile and it has the notch or half hole for column shift, maybe we could work a deal. Thanks. Gusso

NumberDummy---Never thought about them not wearing out-good point.
You know, this is an amazing forum, good guys with great info. LIFE IS GOOD.
Thanks again. GUSSO

You can't go by the illustration picture...wanna know why? Cuz Ford uses the same basic part number on every bracket from day one till now like the one your looking for.

Example: Look in the books..a 1939 Ford right front fender is 91A-16005-A..a 1953 Ford truck fender is BAAA-16005-A, and a right front fender for a 78 Granada is D8dZ-16005-A. The prefix changes, the basic number does not.
