yeah i'm leaning toward a 750dp-just better tuning capabilities,my buddy had a 700dp-seemed good down low but it just flatened out up top-he ran a 750vac and it just wasn't there like the mech carb-then he went to a 750dp-now he's happy,his motor was a little more mild than mine too

I would go with a vac secondary over a mechanical. You can easily adjust the tip in on the secondaries with a vac sec carb by just changing springs. A spring kit is a few bucks. There is also a quick change spring cover available.

i've run the lighter springs and you can make them run better but then it knocks mileage-my 600 went from 10 to 7mpg going to the lighter spring-my #4776 600dp runs circles around my old #1405 600 edelbrock and #1850 holley 600 vac-and i'm getting 12mpg
