Anyone used or heard anything about these tires? They look great and are buy 3, get 1 free at 4wd Parts, but I cannot find any reviews or information online about them. I would be buying them in the 305/65R17 size. Please share any experience or information you have on these.
Pro Comp is owned/manufactured by Cooper Tire. I have them on my F-250, Xtreme A/T 35X12.50R18. They have about 7K on them and are hardly showing any wear. Ride is great, extremely quiet and perform great in the snow and rain. Look good too.
You may want to shop around though if you are buying online. I have seen places selling them cheaper than 4WD Parts. If you are buying locally, any good Cooper dealer should beable to get them.
I doubt I will actually buy them online just because I would rather have the free balancing, rotation, road hazard, etc. that I get buying them locally. The only problem is that it seems like local places don't get the Buy 3, get 1 free deal.
Most local dealers in my area won't sell Pro Comps because they are a 'specialty' tire. I ended up getting mine at a 4X shop close to my work. That was over four years ago, and I'm looking to replace them this year. I was able to find a deal online, that has free shipping. The 4 for 3 deal is good until the end of this month. Send me a PM if you need the website.
Oh. And I run the normal A/T's. The wear is typical for over 50K miles on them.
I took off some 315/75R16 Nitto AT's (after only 7K miles, Boo Hoo) and mounted a set of ProComp Xtreme AT's in 325/65R18 size with new Eagle alloys, 9 inches wide.
I have a 4 inch lift on my F-350 , and needed more load capacity for a 3K lbs camper. The Nitto's are rated @ 3195@50PSI, and the ProComps are rated @ 3860 @ 65PSI, which took care of the big camper load!
I've only had the new tires for a couple of weeks, now, but I think they are GREAT! They ride much better than the 16 inch rubber with the top heavy camper - less flex in the sidewalls! They are nice and quiet as well. I like the large footprint of these tires, as we do some beach running, and they should work great - haven't tried em' there, yet.
I shopped around, and bought mine on the 4 for 3 deal, from a big local tire shop here in Stockton, CA. Paid $1,803 out the door for the tires and wheels, mounted and balanced, but not mounted on my truck - did that myself.
Anyone need a nice set of 16 inch Nitto AT's (315/75R16) on eagle 8 inch wide alloys???
