Has anyone out there used or know someone that has used any Painless Modules? I see they have one for the motor and one for the trans plus a turbo cool down module. They are new and I can't find anything on them.I like what I have read and they will not show up in the computer if it has to go back for warranty work.
I think you'll be lucky to find anyone that uses these modules. If you base you decision to buy one on the fact that the dealer won't know you used it you could end up very disappointed. SCT is the only way to go.
That was what I was thinking about The Dealer! All that I read about is SCT Programmer. I also liked the idea you plug it in and forget about it! I guess I was wrong on that brain storm. Thanks for the point in the right direction.
Man I know you want an answer about that one in particular but you will be hard pressed to post a question about a tuner and not get the same sct rant. I understand those that have it love it but that isn't what you wanted to know. Hopefully someone will answer your question instead of suggesting something else.

The answer to his question is that nobody uses that module that knows any better. Is there a reason for that? Probably. Being that this is his second thread on this module maybe he should buy, plug it in and forget about it. After running it for awhile he can come back and give us the results.
I just wanted facts from people that have experience with Modules. It seems that everyone likes SCT and I have read good results and I think the SCT is a very good option but before I spend 500 bucks I need to find out what is out there and how good it is or BEWARE! I wan to keep it simple. The information that I have received from my posts have been 100 % usable and appetitive.
Ive had my last module, SCT is the only way to fly.
What I have used and the problems.......
Quadzilla Race Module - 2 Transmissions
Banks - Head Gaskets
Bully Dog Triple Dog and Dr Perf Predator Stacked - Turbocharger
Edge - never had one never will (to many problems with installs of they're products)
I have a Painless on mine and havent seen anything but great results. Fuel Milage is somewhere between 18 to 18.5 in city and the truck has a buttload of power when I need it.
My results with the Painless product have been very positive!

I have heard similar results.. ordereing my SCT as soon as Jeremy calls me.. I will post..
Shriner I knew if I kept asking someone will reply with a module! How was it to install?
Sounds like you're just bound and determined to get one despite what you've been told. A plugin module is a plugin module is a plugin module...............
Of course you'll get an increase in performance...that's what it's made for. You unplug the PCM harness and put the module between the harnesses and plug it back in. Mount the box and go. It's still a plugin module

HEY I THINK YOUR NEEDLE IS STUCK!! HIT THE NEEDLS ON THE RECORD..LOL
A guy in my lodge did it for me. He owns and operates an auto repair place, but from what I remember it took him about an hour. The thing I like about the Painless, is if the truck needs to go back to the dealer for anything warranty, I can unplug it rather than remove it completely. It also does not leave a footprint in the ECM, thus no error codes. I have a Power Commander III on my Harley that manipulates info post ECM, which works great... Same type of theory.
Be advised, it has 10 levels of performance boost and the highest setting, makes this truck have huge gains in its ability to outrun most things on the roads these days.
