05 5.4 oil level increases about a quart and a half in 2500 miles. doesn't look like antifreeze in the oil is it possible it is gas? no computer codes displayed. anyone else had this problem?
try smelling the oil...if theres gas in it...i would think it would smell like it...and it would have a different look to it since gas sits on top of oil (right??)
take it to ford if your still under warrenty. as said above it could be gas from a stuck open injector
oil mixes with the gas like for a 2 stroke engine and raises the oil level. if it was antifreeze the oil level would also be higher but like a milkie chocolate milk if it stayed in the pan or possibly also be in the over flow bottleand look the same depending on where the antifreeze leak was from
yea...i wouldnt drive it much untill you got it checked out by dealer....dont do an oil change, if i were you, take a sample and send it to blackstone labs (i think thats it) and have them test your oil while its at the dealer and have them test the oil...if the say its fine show them the results from blackstone
Holy smokes, how would that much gas get in the oil? A stuck injector like someone posted about a few weeks ago? If that's the case, the cat is probably smoked too like that person's was.
would an open injector not cause it to run like $#%@? it still seems to run fine. I assumed anything like that would turn on the check engine lite but cant see how it could be anything else?
