I just started hearing a knocking noise from what sounds like between the tranny and engine, it speeds up with increased throttle and back down, checked my oil its was fine level wise but there was a white residue looking stuff on the tip, wiped it off tried it again still there checked my antifreeze and it was low and haven't had the chance to add more checked all my other fluids and they were fine, I drove it back home and the white residue was gone but the knocking remained, I almost the flexplate was bad but wanted to see what everyone had to say, all advice is welcome and very much appreciated. 95 F150 302 5 speed 4x4
Also, check for loose u-joints in that area. Put your truck in neutral, apply E-brake or chock wheels, and grab your drive shaft to see if there's any excessive movement.
I had something similar on a GM 4 speed. It was a broken tooth on one of the gears. Different car I know and a long time ago but could happen to a Ford. I'd be guessing but a shaft that's cracked would also give the sound and not necessarily self destruck.
sure can!!!
seeing as you are a new user, i would post the video to a photo sharing site like photobucket first, then copy and paste the link here. it will be easier than trying to figure out our downloader.
