so i fired up my truck today and it sounded normal, as usual, pretty rough but it once it warms up a little it smooths out. anyways so after i shut it off i checked the oil and it was about a liter low but it had really tiny bubbles in it, maybe two dozen or more, but really tiny. Ive never seen this before maybe its normal and i shouldnt worry about it but id like a second opinion. she's got about 316000 kms on her so she's getting up there. I was also thinking about cavitation, what are some signs i should be looking for, and or tests i should do. one more thing, it sounds like its got a sticky lifter, didnt really check anyfurther then hearing it while outside the truck letting her warm up but it like to hear what you guys think.
yeah i totally forgot, its a 1991 f-250 7.3l with what i think is an ats turbo, oh yeah, and could someone help me identify my turbo. and my cdr valve is leaking oil from the vavle cover seal, where the cdr goes into the valve cover. do you think its the seal or what? yeah i know thats alot of stuff do mention all in one thread, i think im gonna have to go into more detail in other posts, but if you have the slightest idea of what im talking about please help.
If you just shut it down there could be bubbles, after all the crank was slapping the daylites out of the oil. What oil are you using........
Cavitation......... coolant in the oil......90% of the time
cooler orings.......oil in the coolant
Air in the oil...... could be a cracked oil pickup. Best to do a real time oil pressure test.
Obviously the turbo is an aftermarket install........ where does the turbo oil dump back into the engine. It should go in behind the intake........where the CDR valve was installed prior to turbo install.
