I am taking my truck in to a local spring shop tomorrow to have the front springs replaced. This is due to the driver’s side sagging almost 2''. Right now my truck has "u" code 4800lb front springs and ''b" code 6084 lb rear springs. Its a 2001 F250 SC LB with a diesel.
I am looking for some suggestions on suspension upgrades so I can talk the talk when I take it in tomorrow. I have found plenty of info on front springs as far as codes and lb ratings, but how does that relate to suspension packages available through Ford when the vehicle was new? For Instance, Heavy service, Camper package and Plow package? Also did a Heavy service package with a diesel get a different spring then the same package with a gas engine? <O
<O
I can't find any info on rear springs other then what my truck has now, were there any other options available for the rear as well?<O
The thing is I really don't care to lift the front other then restore it to the factory specs. I guess a better way to ask my question would be, for an f250 LB SC with a diesel, I know the plow prep got x springs. Does anyone know for sure what the heavy service or the Camper package got?
Just my 2 pennies, but call a 4 wheel drive shop, I know a few guys who have gotten stock front springs from them for nothing other than a thanks for getting them out of our shop. A lot of guys take their brand new rig in and lift it and they have the new springs doing nothing but takin up space,,,, worth a try.
I thought I replied oh well!.... I would go with the w's minimum. do the x's if you want to lift it slightly. I have the x's on my rig and like em.
Dick
Sorry, But I really didn't completely understand your first reply.
So, if I now understand correctly, with a 01 diesel SC Lb Ford used x springs in any suspension package other then stock package.
Thanks,
John

Thats a good suggestion, but since I have an appointment at the suspension shop this morning at 7:00 AM that won't be an option for me this time.
