Vibration
I have a strange vibration, it feels like the vibration you get from a manual tranny when you shift too early then try to accelerate. It seems to vibrate at a certain combination of acclerater position and RPM regardless of speed. If I tromp it, when the tranny kicksdown it goes away and crusies fine until I try to climb or pass under light to moderate accel.
I have considered everything from the vacuum actuator to the kickdown linkage to the Ujoints to the TPS (Throttle Pos. Sen) to the egr valve. Frankly I am begining to feel like an automotive hypochondriac.
But I have yet to truly tackle the problem.
I have about 2,000 miles of travel planned for Christmas and just want to make sure my family is not stranded on the road somewhere.
Any ideas.
Also I did a tune up the other day, plugs, wires cap and rotor. It has NEVER idled rough before... now it does. ARRRRG.

Just checking really, becasue mine does much the same thing but it sounds like knock and ping at highway speeds once its dropped into OD.
I was told that perhaps replacing Knock sensor (back of the block, top of the engine) should help this problem. Haven't done it yet.
Fortunatley for me the rough idle is a recent thing (since my tune up Sunday) and I think I might be able to correct it with a PCV (which I failed to replace) and that trick someone mentioned about wd40 in the new plug wires. I had a hard time getting them on. Maybe one is not on good.
The vibration in the tranny has been there since I bought it 9 months ago, but has no sound to it. Infact, alot of passengers mistake it for road vibration, you feel it mostly through the accelerator linkage and it can be reproduced at will if you know the conditions it comes under.

One other person said it sounded like something to do with the torque converter, another seemed to think it was a tranny mount that was loose but I have a hard time accepting that.
