Welcome to (FTE)!

Yes they do fit, and they look very good, but I'm not sure how good the
flat/boxxy looking 79 would look!

I just checked a parts joint and the part #s are the same. So I guess not only will they fit, but they're the exact same bumper.

For future reference, when you have a question like this, all you have to do is google "72 ford truck bumper" and you'll get a list of parts houses that sell them. Jot down the part # and google the same thing for a 73 and compare the part #. It takes less than a minute.

Let me throw a small wrench in here. The part numbers may now all be the same, and while the mount points are the same from 65 to 79, the ends of the bumpers are different.

That is purist information, the rest of us will bolt on a great looking bumper regardless of the slant on the end.

F100/350 1964/72 Front bumper 17757

They look the same, but by part number they ain't the same. Not one front bumper part number interchanges between Econolines and F Series Pickups.

The correct bumper for 1964/72 F100/350 is C4TZ-17757-C Painted or C4TZ-17757-D Chrome.

Bill, Do the parts books give total overall length of the bumpers. I may be wrong but I think there may be some difference there also between 65-79.

I agree with what jowilker is trying to convey. My 65 F-100 had the bumper on
it that swept back on each end tight to the body, and almost look like it was
made to fit the valance real tight, the parts catalogs say serial #AGO,001 .
So i'm thinking that at some point maybe parts books stopped listing the
other kind of bumpers!

P.S. the bumper that i'm posting about if removed from the truck and laid
on the ground beside the ones you have listed they have a very round look.

Steve, Are you sure about that? I haven't measured one but my recall is the frame width is different between the E & F series. My recall could use a rebuild so you might be right.

Wally,
The only chrome front bumper I have ever seen on F100/350's from 1964 thru 1977 is the one I listed: C4TZ-17757-D.

However, the 1975 and later Econoline front bumper looks similar to the 64/77 F Series, is slightly rounded off, and could have found its way onto an F Series pickup. By part number, they are different, but I've never tried to see if the holes will line up. Maybe that's what was on your truck.

1964/72 F Series pickups numerical sequence of assembly serial numbers were 6 digits. 1964/66 were all numbers (123456), 1967/72 added a letter, then five numbers (A12345). Therefore, there is no such serial number as AG0,001. There is nothing regarding any serial number change in the front bumper section of the 1964/72 parts book (Section 174, pg 32).

I think what your truck had was either an aftermarket bumper, or off an Econoline.

Wally...Update...the Econoline bumper is what you had...I found some clear color pictures in my pile of stuff. Bumper wraps around lower gravel shield (almost to fender opening on an E-Van), just like you described.
