I have a 05 f150 its keeps cuting off so i put my edge back in and did diagnostic test (it wasn't programed at the time) i came up with P1000 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) SYSTEM READYNESS TEST NOT COMPLEAT! so i went to auto zone and was going to get theim to check it but it would not read it . i un did the pos battery side for a few min and it would still not read it.dose anyone know if i can re set somthing or what the problem could be?
The test said SYSTEM READYNESS TEST NOT COMPLETE. It hasent run through the cycles yet. You need to STOP disconnecting the battery and allow the cycles to complete. Then check it again.
How long dose it take the system to run through the cycles ? this hapend about two weeks ago same code then.when i went to auto zone today he told me i could try and un hook the batt but it still reads the same thing.

When it is reset, usually by disconnecting the battery, it takes multiple drive cycles for all the OBDII monitors to run. Quit screwing with it. Certain tests cannot be run if the ambient air temp is below 50F. If you're in this case, it may be weeks before everything runs.
The scan tool at the AutoZone store will not test 04 Fords and newer until the store upgrades it. The idiots there don't know what CAN protocol is.....
BTW, NEVER repeat NEVER disconnect the positive terminal first. ALWAYS disconnect the negative terminal first.
projectSHO89.. Man dude if your referring to me as giving stupid advice, then thats your opinion I'm just stating I had the same problem with the p1000 code and the dealer found a blown pcm fuse I didn't tell the man to run out and put one in..So tell me you never took anyones perspective on a particular situation.
