air condition temp.

i asked several months ago if any one was having trouble with the air on a 2005 super crew.
i think i might have figured out my problem. now that it is cold my heater is acting up. 68 degrees is very hot and 60 is very cold. my truck started making a noise in the dash. according to ford the air control doors are sticking or rubbing and not changing the air correctly. does this make any sense to any of you?
i am not sure but it seems when the doors don't make the noise the temp is correct.
what do you think?

The noise could be the actuator that moves the door(s) skipping teeth or something and not moving the door, so it sounds logical to me.
