Ok heres the deal, (from a stop) when I go and turn the wheel at arround 5mph. I feel a vib for a short amount of time both left and right turns. This vib only happens during a small part of the turn as if there is a small bad spot during the range going left or right.
I don't feel it turning at a faster speed but then I wouldn't turn at arround 50mph.
If I was to guess at what degree this happens (if straight is 0 degrees, then it happens arround 30 to 40 degrees and again for just a fraction of a second).
I did buy the truck used and it looks like the previous owner did rub against several sidewalks so I'm guessing that the tires are bad but I want to hear from someone from this forum that has more experience.
I would start by checking the tie rods, idler arm and ball joints. It could be a tire problem but typically a bad tire problem will get worse as you increase speed.

Should I take it to a Ford dealership or can I take it to a tire shop like Les Shwab, Midas, etc.

Hello R_ACE1,
To answer this question...It would depend on how experienced you are at troubleshooting procedures. Everything they do at the shops to test for these problems...You can do in your own garage or driveway, weather permitting. You could consider rotating the tires and see if this makes a difference. Could the vibration be coming from the rear of the truck?
If you have a limited slip differential it could be the clutches chattering.
The cure (usually) is to change the rear end oil and add a bottle of friction modifier.
I had the same problem last year with what felt like a vibration in the rear end. I had the diff. checked, bearings and U-joints. The problem ended up being a front wheel bearing. Just one more thing to think about.
not saying this is the problem but its possible bc i just experienced it after changing my ball joints. my alignment was out and when i turned my outer treads would make a slight vibration.
