Was it from same year Bronco and did it interfere at all with things like the spare tire or receiver hitch. Forgive me if that is a little silly, but it is too cold to go outside right now and look at the rear tank configuration.
I like the idea of increased capacity. I get about 20mpg and that set up would get me about 1000 miles between fillups.
you need to move the spare tire to the bed. but thats the only side affect of the bronco tank. there is some minor fabrication that needs to be done also. mainly to the fuel sending unit if you use your original one. the bronco tank and pickup tank are the same price at napa from what I remember.
Based on the conversation here, I purchased a Bronco tank and installed it this weekend. I, like fishmanndotcom, love my new range. This was fairly simple change and took me about 4 hours from start to finish. I just wish there was a substitute for the front tank instead of the aftermarket 40 gallon tank for around $1,000.

what mods to the sender do you have to do?? what if you get one with a sender already in to??
I just went to the junk yard and asked for a '93-'96 Bronco tank. I guess I got lucky because the one they brought out was the metal one, I didn't know the difference at the time. It has the larger opening. The tank is 8" deeper than the original and all I did was add about 8" of tube with a clamp on the pick up tube and cut the sending unit rod and silver soldered 8"s onto the length. I did not do the filler tube mod but when I went to fill it the first time I only put in 10 gals to make sure I had it right. the next day I filled it up all the way and never had a problem like I used to with the old one, just lucky I guess.
