Who makes the best blower setup?

I am interested in adding a centrifugal blower to my 5.8L engine

and was wondering if any of you had good, bad experiences with these assemblies, I will consider how well it works, ease of installation, maintainability (oil changes etc), and laeast of all
looks....as I will probably get the natural finish alum asembly
to get it heat dispersant coated anyway.

I have see, Vortex, Powerdyne, Paxton and a modified T-Bird SC setup...

I appreciate you sharing info

thanks in advance!

is this for a stock setup or a built motor? If its stock I would look into ken bell, or vortex. also might want to install better head gaskets if your motor is stock. if your wanting to install a sc on a built motor make sure the comp ratio isnt to high.

It is a 5.8, rebuilt with Ross forged dished pistons (stock compression ratio) total seal piston rings, comp cams roller rockers, ported and polished stock heads, stainless 1 piece valves 1.85/1.55.....ported and polished exh manifolds, copper exh gaskets....

the head gaskets are the felpro with the stainless fire rings built in.....0.42 thickness.

all engine bolts are ARP....

cam is a stock profile non roller cam. (I may switch to retro roller next year)

Pistons skirts coated with dry film lube coatings, crown with thermal barrier coating....

valves were also thermal barrier coated.....

comb chambers were polished as were the exh ports...

the intake was portmatched to the heads.....for uninterrupted flow.

the oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets are the o ring inside a metal jackets type...and are blow out resistant...

the truck is peppier than it used to be before the rebuild....the mid range torque is pretty darned good...and it doesn't slow down on hills.....

I just want more off the line torque for towing a speed boat...
or my 69 mustang to Hot aug nights. (that's a loooong climb!!!)

I have heard some bad things about Total Seal and Perfect Circle piston rings when used with blowers. It seems they don’t like the added static cylinder pressure and their twist rates go by the way side after a few hundred miles. This will lead to the rings breaking and causing you some serious headaches. I must admit this has been a few years ago and they might have addressed this issue, but be safe and call them and tell them what you want to do. It could be that you will need to buy different rings.
