do a search for heater cores and you might find a topic that mentions the 85 bronco. I see a number of them here and there.
I'm not familiar with the 85, but the 89 is just under the dash. Take the glove box liner out and there are screws holding the heater core cover on...(don't forget to disconnect the lines from the engine compartment) Remove and replace core. Reconnect hoses...good to go. Takes maybe 15-20minutes.
It may be just as easy in the 85...otherwise, someone here will be able to help you..
I just changed one in my 86 Bronco XLT and it was as the previous post said. Piece of cake. I purchased from Autozone and they had it in stock.

I did one on my 90 bronco. If it is the same it is a matter of taking out the glove box and removing the cover behind it that encloses the heater core. Hope this helps.
