I have an 01, 7.3, X, 130K miles. While coming to work this morning, Ths ABS light came on. I did the basics, checked fuse, fluid Ect. everything checked out. I plugged in my predator to check codes & nothing is thrown?
I have never played with the ABS before. So I'm a little off my game as to know where to start looking. I'm guessing a sensor? What Where & how do you start looking to track this down? any help is appreciated!
My BIL has an explorer and his ABS light came on too...seems like the brake FLUID in the system has to be changed every so often? Anyone else hear about that?...he changed his and light went off.
As far as brake light coming in...it will when the pads wear and the fluid in the master cylinder gets low due to pads low...closed loop system...either change pads and compress the piston and force fluid BACK into master cylinder or add fluid...either of which will raise fluid and turn off light...
Changed out the fluid, Still the same ....................
I have read, the rear speed sensor can also be the culprit??
Anyone have experiance with this??? Seems like an easy part to replace!
I have the same issue. Replaced the rear sensor (very easy to replace) but I still have the light. Not sure if I need someone to clear out the code or if I have something else wrong.
