my 2001 has some lights that are blown in the instrument cluster for the gauges. Question do I have to pull the dash or does the cluster simply pull out after i remove the three screws that are holding it in. i need to know if this is a 30 min job or an all day job.
It should take a couple of hours. I had two bad bulbs in my cluster, you need to remove the radio, center trim and the plastic piece surrounding the guages and then the guages all come out in a group. I don't remember if you have to drop the steering column but it's no big deal if you do. You also need to disconnect the speedometer cable and a wire harness plug and then the bulbs twist and pull right out of the plastic guage housing. My Haynes manual had a pretty good explanation of the procedure, it was fairly easy.
thanks for the input guys i changed the bulbs tonight hardest part was finding the smaller bulbs mine had 37E in it i couldn't find any so i put a 74 in place everything is brite now. and it only took about an hour to do the whole job from taking it apart to putting it all back together. of course it took about 45 min to get the bulbs but i didn't include that in my time. anyway thanks for the help.
