I did the F-350 Booster and Master cylinder upgrade for around $150 bucks on my "87". She has a hair trigger brake now!! Hydro-booster is nice, but if ya run big tires get a cooler for the fluid.
Alsair,
Thanks for the reply. A couple of ?s:
Did you use a saginaw pump? How did you run the lines?
I usually tow a 24ft trailer that weighs in at 7000lbs, but use stock size tires. The power steering pump runs thru a small cooler in front.
I did not install a Hydro-Boost. I simply yanked out all the stock Bronco brake parts and installed F-350 brake parts. There is a major diffrence in the brakes. I looked into the Hydro-Boost. My only concern was availability of parts?? Sticking with a factory type set-up gave me a little confidence that when towing my boat out of town, you know ma & pa auto part stores had parts. However that being said the Hydro -Boost is a nice system.
Best mod I did to my bronco was fitting a hydro boost system for an e450 into my bronco. I later upgraded to a saginaw pump. Do a google search on bossind and you might find were I posted the builds.
