Realigning a Fender

Somehow or another, the passenger-side fender on my 1992 F-150 Super Cab got out of alignment, and I can't open the door without it popping and causing damage to the fender and door itself.

There are four bolts that tie the fender to the radiator support, two bolts just down from the cowl panel, and one just forward of the door/fender seam. I'm sure there are more, I just don't know where at the moment.

I guess my main question is... Once I find all of the bolts and loosen them, do I just wiggle the fender to the position that it needs to be and bolt it back down? This is something that I've never done before.

Thanks, ya'll!

Yep, once you get them all loose, you should be able to move it generally about 1/8 - 1/4" which should give you more than enough flexibility to get it out of the way of the door, then just tighten everything back up and you shouldn't have anymore problems.

Sure thing,, always glad to help out when I can, but it's odd that it just moved around without the help of an accident or something. Might wanna ask the ole lady what she was doing in the truck. ROFL

LMAO @ Indy...

I tell you what I think happened... The other day, I was backing my 24' gooseneck with the truck in the driveway. To accomplish the sharp angle that I had to back the trailer in, I had to go diagonally across a drain ditch in the yard. Right after that, I noticed the door started popping and hanging.

I'm going to have to weld some reinforcements in this 'ol frame... It's gonna have to get stiffer than that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

What I was thinking, in future terms of course, is weld a brace straight across the frame beams, right under and back a bit from the radiator support.

Then, with the bed off, I plan on welding 4-6 braces from frame rail to frame rail to really stiffen up the back.
