I took my Wife's focus in for a oil change today, the back two tires have only 3/32 of tread left after 29,000 km. We have always had the service done at the dealer and rotated the tires every 10,000 km. For a expensive tire like this, it is terrible that they wear this much in that short of time. To replace two tires is $425, I'm totally disgusted at this. I will never buy any Pirelli tires for a replacement or for any other vehicle we have.

Wow, that`s some major coin for these tires. Anything special about them? I`m sure their not speed rated or are 16/18'' tires so what`s so expensive about them other than the name?
That is pretty expensive. Got to remember though, the more performance a tire it is, the less it will last! Performance and long lasting are never hand in hand!
I have Goodyear eagle rsa's on my car, totally impressed. they handle awesome on ice and snow, great stopping power, and handle great at very high speeds in the summer. Maybe look into switching to them, they have a really sporty look.
Preppy is right. True "high performance" tires don't last very long at all due to the type of rubber they use. If you want a long lasting tire, see if you can get a "grand touring" tire in your size, those will be harder rubber.
Do they have any warranty since the mileage is low? We run all goodyear's from the F-1's on the Cobra to the triple treads on the wifes car. I recommend the triple treads as they are a great all season tire.
