headlight conversion?

Anyone make a headlight conversion for 2000 f-250 SD PSD?

If not, can anyone recommend some better bulbs?

You can use the OEM housings from the 2002-2004 year trucks or do the full front end swap to the '05-'07 year trucks. Swap in some Silverstar bulbs and upgrade the wiring harness will help increase brightness as well.

You might want to check out the LED's, they really look good and it may cost a little more but the diffrence is outstanding. makes the truck unique.

LED for headlight? That doesn't make any sense.

I was hoping to find an HID or xenon conversion. All I can find for conversions are euro or diamond cut housings.....not really a conversion in my books. But I might go euro with some ultra white bulbs.

I'm not doing a front end swap, but the housing swap is an idea I'll keep in mind.

If you do decide on the HIDs, make sure in your state or country that it is legal to install HIDs in a non-protector type headlight housing. Here in California, and many other US states, it's illegal to install HIDs in non-protector type housings due to the glare.

I know exactly what your talking about and its illegal in Canada also. If I did HID I would do it properly. If I can't do it properly then I won't do it at all.

Hence the reason I'm asking about conversions.

Oh I see, you're not just looking for the HID conversion (Which I thought you were asking about) you're looking for the whole housing/HID deal.

Well, a local guy here has gotten away with it by installing projector headlights and then doing the HID conversion with the new projector housings. A highway patrol office okay'd it and signed off his fix it ticket so it should be legal right? Here's a link to the projector housings:

BTW, I just noticed in my first response I said protector headlights lol...I meant to say projectors.

Have you seen these in person or know anyone that has them? I'd like to know how good quality they are. I've bought stuff off ebay before that was crap.

I have those projectors. You can't use HID in them. They are plastic housing. The bulbs are H1 if you wanted to know. If I can figure out how to get my OEM headlights out I'll post pics of my truck. They seem to be good quality. I'll let you know.

I don't know anything about the projectors on the right. info@specdtuning.com but they could probably answer your questions.

Are the better (brighter) than your OEMs?

I plugged them in to test them but haven't installed them yet. I can't figure out how to get the OEM lights out. They seem just as bright. They are 55W bulbs. The big difference is that the light is focused. And there is a cut-off line. I'm going to upgrade the bulbs and wiring harness next. If you like the look of HID try the link I posted to hoen-usa. I have an email out to Daniel Stern about his bulbs but have yet to hear back from him. Have you figured out how to remove the stock lights yet?

Thanks for the links! Daniel stern was very informative.

What I'm looking for is a high output (90-100W) ultrawhite or xenon type bulb so the Hoen link is awsome.

Thanks again. Just waiting to hear back from specdtuning for bulb type, size, and max power for their headlight kit.
