Quick Air Filter Question

Has anyone tried to clean out the filter with compressed air instead of replacing it? Ive had this setup for three years and I think its great, but if I can save a few bucks I would.

I don't believe I would try that...

I personally would NOT try to clean one of the 6637 filters. They are paper and in theory if you blow high pressure into from outside, or out of from inside, there would be a chance of tearing the paper. Or at the very least, creating microscopic holes where the dirt was embedded into the paper then pushed back out. It may be tough paper, but when you are pushing compressed air through it, your taking a chance of tearing the filter media you are depending on to filter out the dirt...Just my 2 cents worth....

I agree with Dave, I too am all for saving money(more mods) but, I think $30 is reasonable for a new 6637 from Wix, not to mention the money you will save if you try to blow it out and dust the turbo
