Air Filter Minder

I just checked my air filter reminder at the air filter box and the thing is just sitting there loose in the hole. I try to "plug it in" to the hole, but it's just loose. Is there supposed to be a rubber grommet or something else that holds this thing in place?

Yes, there should be a rubber grommet that holds it in place, I would open the air intake, could have fallen inside.
