just got oil results from black stone..they say my 99 is in tip top shape..should my numbers be lower or higher then average?? reason for asking is....molybdenum (what is this?) is 206 and the average is 18..is this good or bad?? where can i find what each of these results mean and what is the best number to have?? thanks guy's..
Molybdenum is an anti-wear additive, and it also is in some piston rings. If it is not a bold number, i wouldn't worry about it. My molybdenum was 4ppm
It depends alot on the brand. Delo is very high in moly for a Dino. JTHarvey is seeing 200's on his synth. Kris are you running bypass filtration? Some have been seeing the Sub micron systems filtering out the add packs.
Ron Keep an eye on the silicone this was your first change after doing the AFE wasn't it? After I switched to the AIS silicone went to 4 and now is at 2. The cooper is very good, a gradual steady increase over a couple of OCI's can be an early warning of injector washers.
