99 F350

Hi
I just signed up to you site and looks like a lot of good information goes on here.
I have a 99 f350psd 7.3 auto 4x4 dually BUILT 07-98 WHICH MAKES IT A 99 NOT 99 1/2. i am trying to find out if I can put a newer engine in this truck with out any modifaction. Like 2000 to 2003 ?? There are several used engines avaible with low mi and price in my area. Would save me a whole bunch of money.
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Robert

WELCOME TO FTE.........
to answer your question, i may not be 100% correct, but the 7.3 for the most part is interchangable, but they are somewhat specific when it comes to the engine management system (PCM), the 99 are different than the 02/03 i do believe,
im sure there will be more to come on this.

Thats what I was thinking, you will also need a late modle PCM and the higher voltage IDM (99.5-03) would be good although either IDM would work.
