Does anyone make an underdrive pulley for the V10? I have an issue with my truck. Under heavy acceleration, when it shift gears. All the accerories on the engine keep spinning too fast, and the belt squeels until I let out of the throttle.
Ive upgraded the trans, so it shifts instantly and hard.
Any thoughts? New belt!
thanks lug
as for UNDERdrive pullies..........i know JET, EDELBROCK and a few other's make under drive pullies......when i was looking for them, i found that most brands revert you back to the 5.4 kit. i was "told" that all the pullies (crank, alt, pwr steering) from the 5.4 kit will fit the V10's as well! the kits came in both 6 & 8 groove i think
i never got around to ordering a kit due to the fact that ALL the kits i checked into stated that if you run larger than 36-37" tires (even with re-gearing) NOT to run an underdrive pully set...........so i can't say i know what they'll do, or how much you will gain, or notice from the kit................
but try you a good new name brand belt (like gates) and see how that works. i changed my 2000 rangers serp belt from the stock to a GATES brand belt after a mudding trip and never had anouther sceech out of it!
The stock power steering pump on the SD sucks anyways. I wouldnt want to slow it down and make the already stiff low speed steering any worse.
Agreed - I've stomped on the brakes (dropping the engine rpm real low) and tried to steer, let's just say I'm glad there was room to not make the turn.
